Lake George Winter Carnival
Every February, one of our favorite winter activities is the Lake George Winter Carnival. Started in 1961, Lake George Winter Carnival offers a wide variety of entertaining activities. Expect to see 4×4 ice bag races, snowmobile poker run, car races on ice, ice diving competition, and much more! Come prepared to eat more than your body weight, because there is plenty of food for you to enjoy! But if you identify as a foodie, you have to experience the “Famous Cook-Offs,” event. Local restaurants compete with each other for the best tasting food item. The restaurants prepare a dish off of their menu and serve it to visitors. At the end of the food tastings, you get to cast your vote! Guests especially love Lake George Winter Carnival’s Hot Chocolate bar, because you can load up your cocoa with as many toppings as your souvenir mug can hold. Take that as a challenge!
Tubby Tubes Snow Tubing
While snow tubing is most prevalent during winter months, guests can snow tube all year round at Tubby Tubes Slide Park. If you’re not the adrenaline chasing type, don’t worry! Tubby Tubes offers a variety of slides varying in lengths and speeds to accommodate all guests. Some of their featured slides include the 1,000-foot multi-lane snow slide, the 500-foot raft luge, and the “Tiny Tubes” for children to play in the snow hill and tubes. Visitors especially enjoy the park’s Tubby Tube Tow because it takes your snow tubing experience to a whole new level!
