Lake George Winter Carnival

Most people think of Lake George only as a summer town.  Understandable.

I mean, who wouldn’t want to enjoy this?

But winter is a great time in Lake George.    Here is a shot of what the resort looks like from the lake.

 

This weekend starts the Lake George Winter Carnival.  You can find their schedule of events here.  If you have never been it is a really fun winter event.    In runs on the weekends throughout the month of February.  There  is something for everyone- outhouse races, chili and chower cookoffs, flag football, fireworks, beach bonfires, car races, ATV poker runs, tubing, activities for the kids and MUCH MORE.

Last year the lake didn’t freeze.  Of course the winter carnival is fun either way but when you can get out and walk on the lake it just adds to the feel of the event.

Come up and enjoy a day or two in Lake George.  It’s a different feel than the summer time but hey (!!) different is good!
